Alexander Lake, at sixteen, is the only son of an aging London-born criminal - Jon Lake. Having had a tough life, in that his mother, fed up with her husband's inability to earn an honest wage, left Jon and their son several years previously. Hurt by his mother abandoning him at a young age, Alex was then shocked at news of her death in a boating accident, in which she and her new man died under mysterious circumstances.

But his father's past catches up with him, so Alex is forced to become Sandi to escape the gangsters who are after his Dad. The problem is that Sandi is a lot more than a disguise, as the girl is here to stay. Needless to say, the disguise caused some concerns when Sandi replaces Alex at school, but that is only the start of the problems.
Suddenly released of all Alex's hang-ups, Sandi goes from strength to strength, out-witting her father's enemies, carving a name and career for herself and landing herself a boyfriend in the process.

This us the secod time reading this book. I still find myself reading the book in one evening. I would recommend it anyone looking a good read.
All Tanya Allen books are 4 stars or above. Someone needs to start making movies about some of her books and I would so love to see Dominque as a movie.
For once, it is neither perverted nor pornographic.. Just an unusual love story with a crime story subplot. Well written as well.
Loved reading this. Good book. Transgender was just an after thought. It would have been just as good without it.
Ms. Allen is a wonderful writer, this book had interesting characters, fun plot. Strong emotional elements.
Great story as always
Really enjoyed reading this book. This was one of the first books I read by Ms. Allen and I am now reading a lot of her other stories. She is a great author and her stories really make you feel like you are in the story itself.
She is the "daughter" of a London gangster who is not the best of fathers but is still a loving Dad. "Superbabe" becomes a fantastic model with many adventures and trials as she goes from male to female, designing clothes, models all over the world with corresponding happenings, becomes an actress, and gets married all before turning twenty. Enjoy.
